Introduced for pre-order on February 2nd 2009, the Eee 1000HE is another 10" netbook from Asus that features an extended battery life. With a much improved keyboard layout, the main improvement found on the 1000HE over the 1000HA is the 9.5 hour battery life with reduced screen brightness and disabled wireless. I bought this for my friend's birthday and have been him install some software and updates for the past week. The MSI Wind may not be the most stylish netbook int he market, but the specs are good and the battery life of this little laptop is quite impressive (more than enough for me anyway).

The latest in a long line of netbooks to hit the market, the Samsung NC10 offers a slightly higher specification than many of its competitors and at a fairly attractive price too at $499 (329.99 GBP / 404.83 Euro) . The first NC10s began appearing in the United States, UK & Ireland, in November 2008. Only time will tell whether the build-quality is as good as its specifications.

An enhanced version with larger trackpad an battery was released on March 7th 2009. This version of the netbook takes the Asus Eee PC 1000HE head on with an improved battery life of 9 hours, 40 minutes, however it cannot compare in price, demanding a rather steap $469 - almost $100 more than the Asus. ASUS Eee PC 1000HA

The latest addition to the Eee PC 1000 series, Asus has focused on providing the best bang for the buck with the 1000HA. Featuring the 1000 series' body size (the same as the smaller 7" model), a 10" LED backlit screen with a resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels, and a 1.6GHz atom processor, the 1000HA comes with a cheaper and more reasonable 160GB 4200rpm hard disk, 1GB of DDR2 memory, standard wireless (B/G), a 1.3MP webcam and a 6 cell battery. Rated at 6-7 hours of runtime, the 1000HA is set to sell for an attractive $429.99 - much more acceptable than the earlier 1000H's price. A 9" version (the 900HA) was also launched at the same time.

In April 2009 the 1000HA was updated to include the new chicklet style keyboard first introduced on the 1000HE. No other modifications were made to the device.

THE Acer Aspire One is one the first netbook range that comes in a wide variety of colors to best suit your personality. The keyboard design was pretty good and it didn't take long for me to get used to it. For a laptop of this size, i think the keyboard design is as good as it gets
